SAP
SAP is a producer of software for the management of business processes, developing solutions that facilitate effective data processing and information flow across organizations. SAP environments are critical to many types of enterprise workloads.
When your environment is ingesting SAP data, you can use it to pinpoint where problems like slowdowns or outages are stemming from, which systems were impacted and who was affected. You can also start to proactively predict and prevent issues with prescriptive guidance and routing through Splunk's artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation capabilities.
Configuration
Guidance for onboarding data can be found in the Spunk Documentation:
- Getting Data In (Splunk Enterprise)
- Getting Data In (Splunk Cloud)
- Get data into Splunk Observability Cloud
You can also use Splunk Apps and Add-ons to help you configure and work with SAP data:
- Splunk Service Intelligence for SAP Solutions is a premium application that offers out-of-the-box content to monitor your SAP environment within Splunk ITSI. This gives you a high-level view into the health and performance of services as well as the ability to dive deep into investigations. By correlating SAP data with infrastructure data, you can gain end-to-end visibility into business processes, helping to eliminate downtime and avoid costly outages. The Solution Guide Service Intelligence for SAP® Solutions and the Whitepaper Upstream to downstream: Turn manufacturing data from SAP into doing provide more information on the capabilities of Splunk Service Intelligence for SAP Solutions.
- SAP PowerConnect for Splunk is an SAP certified product that installs into NetWeaver ABAP, S/4 HANA, NetWeaver Java, SAP Cloud Platform or TomCat Java based SAP systems and uploads events directly to Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud in real time.
