Introduction to Synthetic Monitoring

Proactively monitor the performance of your web app before problems affect your users. With Splunk Synthetic Monitoring, technical and business teams create detailed tests to monitor the speed and reliability of websites, web apps, and resources over time, at any stage in the development cycle.

You can use Splunk Synthetic Monitoring for the following use cases:

  • Proactively monitor site availability before it affects users
  • Report on the availability or impact of third-party services
  • Check how new code deployments improve or degrade performance
  • Test your site performance against competitors’ sites
  • Scan for moved or broken links on your site

To get the most out of your experience, we suggest you review the key concepts in Splunk Synthetic Monitoring before creating your first tests.

Before you dive in any further, we recommend taking the free Splunk Synthetic Monitoring course to learn the basics of this product, much of which will be reinforced in this Getting Started guide.
