Identifying performance bottlenecks with Splunk RUM for Browser

If you're a site reliability engineer responsible for monitoring the performance of your website, identifying performance bottlenecks will be one of your primary concerns. When sites are sluggish, users get frustrated and are more likely to abandon a slow site in favor of a faster competitor, so you need to prevent this situation.

You can use Splunk Real User Monitoring for Browser and Splunk Observability Cloud to identify performance bottlenecks and monitor Web Vitals so that you can troubleshoot customer facing issues on your website.

Many businesses rely on search engines for users to discover their sites. Google uses Web Vitals to determine page ranking. Splunk Real User Monitoring automatically measures Web Vital metrics so you can tune into the overview page to check in on the metric scores.

Web Vitals are made up of three metrics that measure user experience:

  • Largest contentful paint (LCP)
  • Cumulative layout shift (CLS)
  • First input delay (FID)
