Using Table Views to prepare data without SPL

As a Splunk platform user with a lot of data being ingested into your environment, sometimes you find that you'd like to make changes to the data that's coming in. That might include tidying up issues with data quality, concatenating or renaming fields, extracting fields, or reworking null values. You'd like to be able to make these fixes quickly, without needing to create a lot of SPL queries.

Solution

You can use Table Views to create views of your data with a basic point-and-click approach. You don't need to know SPL to do this.

This video shows you how to do this. It covers how to:

  • Access Table Views
  • Filter and edit data in Table Views
  • Adjust and work with fields using Table Views
